In the summer of 2006, Andrew Schopp set out to bring new volleyball opportunities to the Greater Victoria community. His first programs were a series of small adult leagues and tournaments based out of Reynolds PArk.
Once established as a great organization, Andrew worked to grow the offerings to include indoor adult leagues and youth programs through a partnership with Saanich Recreation.
in May of 2011, Andrew passed the torch of South Island Volleyball to Chris Abra, who was keen to continue the great programming that Andrew had established, while putting his own spin on things.
Over the coming decade, Chris focused on providing high-quality program, growing the South Island Volleyball brand, and continuing the legacy that Andrew had set forth.
With a young and growing family, Chris felt that it was time to find a new operator for South Island VolleybaLL who would be able to provide a new energy and commitment to the Victoria Volleyball Community.
The team at Rex Sports was keen for the challenge and excited to help take South Island Volleyball to the next level.
