Fall Rev 4s 2023 - Week 1

September 13, 2023

Schedule

We are back indoors for fall 2023 Reverse 4s!! It looks like a very competitive and fun season ahead and we can't wait to watch the action!

We have new teams, new Molten balls, new prizes, and new energy this fall! We also have some new league managers so if you're an experienced player, please help them where needed for the first couple weeks as they get in a rhythm! Helping set up and clean up can go along way so help is appreciated :)

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to your games if you can to get warmed up and started as soon as possible. Schedule will be posted every Monday for the upcoming Wednesday night league!

You will move up and down the rankings based on nightly results, if you think you're better than where you are placed, just prove us wrong by winning and moving up! If you find yourself in a pool above your skill level, stay patient, after a week or two you'll be at your level of play. We aren't perfect when it comes to ranking teams for week 1, so week 1 rankings do not count towards your playoff rank. Playoff ranks will be based on your average rank from week 2 onwards.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out or ask your league manager during the night!

League Rules

In addition to standard court volleyball rules, the following rules apply to Reverse 4s:

  1. Men must attack from behind the attack/3 meter line.
  2. Men may only block against men.
  3. No open-handed tips (roll shots, “pokeys”, etc. are allowed)
  4. No setting the ball across the net.
  5. For men, the VB must cross one line, besides the net, if one is inside the 3 meter line (no inside to inside play)
  6. Males are allowed to attack overbump passes from within the attack line area, if they occurred on the first or second contact by the opposing team.
  7. Any discrepancies, just re-serve.
  8. Call out the score prior to each serve.

    Ceiling/Roof Play Rule:
If the ball contacts the ceiling in the playing area and within your own side of the court, it remains in play.  If the ball contacts the ceiling out of bounds or ends on the opponent’s side of play, it is considered out of bounds/loss of point.

*This rule does not include the basketball hoops above the court of play. Contact with the basketball hoops above the court of play is a dead ball.
